Your goal

Place 1–4 once in each row and column while obeying every inequality. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable square.
  2. Read inequalities by their row/column coordinates below the board.
  3. Enter 1–4.
  4. Check puzzle verifies both Latin-square rules and inequalities.

Controls

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

A useful example

r1c2 < r1c3 means row 1 column 2 is smaller than row 1 column 3. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.

Watch out for this

An inequality specifies order, not an exact difference. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
